ABOUT ME
Cultivating practices of restoration, reclamation, and grounding--towards liberation
Hi! I'm Misha. I co-create trauma-informed learning spaces and embodiment practices. I help people weave together strands of gentle, flexible, empowering rituals to create solid foundations and containers for everyday magic. Just as we can bring physical offerings to our earthly altars, so too can we bring offerings of rest, restoration, and reclamation to the altars of mind, body, and spirit.
After extensive experience developing training and curricula for start-ups, I tired of writing the same resignation letter every 12-18 months to organizations committed to exploiting their Black employees and patrons. As a long-time social dancer, performer, and pole dancer, I am fascinated with how spaces of connection and leisure/pleasure can create community cultures that
1. instill their members with liberation-oriented values and
2. move them to meaningful action.
Supporting courses/workshops and stress navigation might seem like two completely different realms, but I've endured a good amount of learning spaces in a marginitized body to know that each is crucial to the other--both as students and teachers. The thru-line for me is creating supportive containers and practices that help people explore that which connects them to curiosity, magic, sovereignty, self-reverence, wonder, themselves, and each other--whether this be in nurturing oneself day-by-day, or nurturing a group of students over the course of a class.
Let us breathe life into the frontiers of possibility, together.
Let us imagine into existence, mote by mote, a reality in which comfort, support, ease, and fulfilment are freely accessible for all.
I seek collaborative, co-creative partnerships in which finding the right questions informs how we allow the answers to emerge.
When I'm not making a living, my life is also filled with writing, painting, astrology study, budding tarot exploration, video- and tabletop-gaming, learning energy healing, and home cooking for myself & my partner.

SHOUTOUT LA:
Meet Misha Agunos | Resilience Toolkit Facilitator & Trauma-Informed Program Coordinator
We had the good fortune of connecting with Misha Agunos and we've shared our conversation below.
Every day we ask our contributors and interviewees questions designed to spark meaningful conversations. We ask questions about life, work, love, parenting, finances, and more. Questions like how you think about risk-taking, work-life balance, or online dating. We ask entrepreneurs why they started their business and we ask artists what their work is inspired by.
Voyage LA Rising Stars:

Voyage LA wants to highlight the best of LA - from freelance makeup artists that dazzle you to the best Meetup groups in town.
Yes, A Stripper Podcast:
The Devil is in the Details
AMD sits down with three women who participated with S-Factor and Sheila Kelley in more than one way. Whether it was teaching at the studio, as a student or as a participant in the recent "Strip Down, Rise Up" movie release on Netflix. The problematic behavior abounds within the culture that is S-Factor, and is shared by Misha, Alyssa and Jessica in this extra long episode. There were many topics to cover and we wanted these guests to have the time and safe space to share this story, as main stream media tends to omit the voices that are the most important. This one will take you on a journey and bonus, there is a breathing exercise at the end.
Stripped Down: The Undoing of Hollywood's Favorite Pole-Dancing Studio
By Gary Baum, Katie Kilkenny, and Rebecca Sun of The Hollywood Reporter
Former teachers and clients at S Factor claim the sexy fitness empowerment movement once embraced by Kate Hudson and Eva Longoria went astray even before racial tensions with its charismatic founder came to a head last summer...

In the conversation we address accountability and integrity in mission-based industries. What it can look like and what it definitely does not look like.
Misha shares her expertise and approaches to using your voice responsibly and creating healthy boundaries in spaces that are more about talking the talk than walking the walk.
This conversation is part of a 7-conversation series on Demystifying Stripping and Decolonizing Sexual Empowerment.
